If you happen to be a Verizon Moto E owner (second-generation), there’s a piece of good news for you.
The company is rolling out the much awaited Android 5.1 Updated for the second generation Verizon Moto E.
The update isn’t too big, but it brings a number of enhancements and new features to improve the overall user experience. The latest update improves the security features on the handset by offering users with factory reset protection. This means that lost or stolen devices must be signed in with the Google account before they are unlocked, even after a factory reset — provided there’s a Google account on the handset. Other features include several UI improvements, some new interruption controls, and a few changes here and there.
The update is rolling out as we speak, but it can take a few days to complete reach all devices — don’t panic if you don’t see it right away. Alternatively, you can also manually check for the update from Settings on your device. Let us know if you’ve already updated your Moto E to Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Last month, the Android 5.1 update was released for the Moto E LTE version as well as second generation Moto X on US Cellular.
