We’ve heard about the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on a number of occasions in the past. The last we heard, it was expected to roll out for the HTC One M7 and M8 later this month, but there’s no word from HTC about it at the moment.
However, it seems the day may not be that far. Recently, a user demoed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update running on the HTC One M7. The video didn’t do a detail overview of the update, but it showed off a few Android 5.0 Lollipop changes, including the new multitasking layout, notification drawer, and quick settings menu.
And yes, it’s still running the Sense 6 UI, not the new Sense 7. It’s expected to roll out with the new HTC One M9 Hima smartphone, and it makes sense for the Taiwanese OEM to release their latest UI with a new flagship device rather than old devices.
There’s no word from the uploaded about how he managed to get the update, but it seems it’s near completion and may roll out by the end of this month. The popular ROM developer LlabTooFer also said that it will roll out for the HTC One M8 in one to two weeks time so we’re hoping HTC will roll it out soon.
We’ll update you as soon as its available. In the meantime, check out the video below.
