HTC was quite quick in announcing that it will release the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the HTC One M7 and M8 within 90 days after receiving it from Google.
The Taiwanese OEM has already released the update for the Google Play Edition version, but the update for the standard version is no where to be found. According to a new report, HTC will start rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update from January 3rd.
As per the report, the news was confirmed at a close event in London where HTC announced it will start rolling out the update from January 3rd. It will bring the all-new material design to the handsets, as well as plethora of other interesting features on tow. The update will also bring improved lock screen notifications, battery improvements, and a lot more.
If it turns out to be correct, it would be a month earlier than the deadline HTC gave to roll out the update for its flagship devices. However, do note that if it commences on January 3rd, it won’t be available for all devices at the same time since the process is gradual, and there’s no word on which country will be the first to get the update. It could take a few weeks for the update to roll out. We’ll update you as soon as the process starts.
