Yesterday Amazon unveiled their first smartphone, the Amazon Fire Phone, the handset will be available eclusively with US mobile carrier AT&T at launch.
Now according to a recent report, Amazon is looking to ship between two to three million Fire Phones before the end of 2014, the handset is being made by Foxconn for Amazon.
Initial shipments of the Amazon Fire phone will apparently be between 300,000 and 500,000 units a month, the handset will go on sale in the US om the 25th of July.
There will be two versions of the Amazon Fire Phone available, one with 32GB of storage that will retail for $199, the other with 64GB of storage that will retail for $299.
These prices are when you take out a new two year contract with mobile carrier AT&T, the handset without a contract will set you back $649 for the 32GB model and $749 for the 64GB model.
We are wondering if Amazon missed a trick by making the Amazon Fire Phones available exclusively with AT&T, we suspect the device would end up being more popular if its was available with all of the mobile carriers.
The handset will only be available in the US at launch, as yet there are no details on when Amazon intends to launch the device in the UK or the rest of Europe.
