Yesterday we heard a rumor that Amazon were taking around 50,000 pre-orders per day on their new $199 Android tablet, the Amazon Kindle Fire, and the company could end up selling up to 5 million Kindle Fire’s by the end of the year.
Now Amazon has confirmed that there has been huge demand for the Kindle Fire, and that they are making ‘millions more’ Kindle Fire tablets than they had originally planned.
“In the three weeks since launch, orders for electronic ink Kindles are double the previous launch. And based on what we’re seeing with Kindle Fire pre-orders, we’re increasing capacity and building millions more than we’d already planned,”
The Amazon Kindle Fire will go on sale on the 15th of November for $199, and we suspect it will end up being this years most popular Android tablet and probably the most popular Android tablet to date.
