As well as announcing the availability of Alexa Announcements in the UK, Amazon has also created a new way of enabling Alexa owners to create their own commands without the need to learn to code. The new Amazon Alexa Skill Blueprints offers an easy way via an online portal to create custom skills to suit your smart home requirements. At the current time skills created through the portal are only accessible in English US language although this is expected to change in the near future. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about how you can create your very own family trivia game.
Amazon explains a little more about how the new Alexa Skills Blueprints can be used to create a wide variety of new applications for their personal assistant. “Skills are like apps for Alexa. You can already choose from thousands of skills to make Alexa to fit your lifestyle, from ordering a pizza to requesting a ride in the Alexa Skills Store. In Skill Blueprints, you can use templates to create your own personal Alexa skill in minutes. Using blueprints, you can create custom games, unique stories, or household lists. For example, you can write a trivia skill about your family and say, “Alexa, open My Family Trivia” to play it whenever you like.”
