We have been hearing quite a bit about Aaron Sorkin’s new Steve Jobs movie over the last few months, and now according to a recent report, Sony has dropped the movie.
The news comes from Deadline, who have received details that Sony has decided to drop the Steve Jobs movie, although it looks like it will still go ahead, as it has apparently been picked up by Universal Pictures.
I’m hearing very strongly that Universal is indeed locking down the Jobs project and essentially giving it a green light. This should be closed by tomorrow latest. That means the project shouldn’t lose any momentum despite the studio move. Will provide more details when I get them.
As yet there are no details on why Sony has decided to drop the Steve Jobs movie, at least we know that it is still going ahead as Universal has picked it up, although this has yet to be confirmed as there is no official word from either Universal or Sony.
