Apple is rumored to be working on a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models, which are expected to launch as early as next month.
With the rumored launch date drawing closer, we get more and more leaks about the alleged device. While rumors suggest that both models will come with a same set of specifications, an analyst believes otherwise. He thinks 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will come with a faster processor on board.
According to Cowen & Co. analyst Timothy Arcuri, citing supply chain checks, he mentioned the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will offer a faster application processor compared to its little sibling. We’ve seen Apple doing something similar in the past as well, both iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina came with the same A7 processor. However, the processor on the iPad Air was clocked at a higher speed.
Additionally, it says that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will feature an additional on-die silicon, such as a larger array of graphics processing cores. “A larger die might be a sign that the 5.5-inch model will feature additional on-die silicon, such as a larger array of graphics processing cores. Alternatively, it might suggest that Apple will make the two chips — believed to be the “A8” — in different fabrication plants using different processes,” AppleInsider notes.
Let’s just take this with a pinch of salt since it’s not official. We’ll update you as soon as we get any other information. Are you excited about the upcoming iPhone 6.
