Unfortunately for the developers of Star Citizen it appears that a community manager from Cloud Imperium Games has unwittingly leaked out 48GB of assets from the games classified imagery.
The mistake happened when the community manager posted work in progress photos that unfortunately contained and has information about the CDN link to be accessible by some very clever fans.
As a result the 48 GB of assets were then leaked out into the wild and are now available from different sources to be viewed by fans and those interested. The Star Citizen game is currently being developed by Roberts Space Industries and is built on a modified CryEngine and will feature Oculus Rift virtual reality support.
“Both Star Citizen and Squadron 42 are set in a 30th-century Milky Way centered on the fictional United Empire of Earth (UEE), an analogue of the late Roman Empire. A central theme of the game is citizenship – or lack thereof – in the UEE, which must be earned through player actions such as completing a period of military service. It is anticipated that citizens will enjoy certain in-game benefits, like paying a reduced tax rate, but the exact details are yet to be determined.”
