Anyone looking for a unique 3D printing filament might be interested in Buzzed which has been creating using a byproduct of the beer making process.
A 1kg spool of Buzzed filament is priced at $49, and is available in either 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameters depending on your 3D printers requirements, and can be printed on any 3D printer capable of printing PLA using standard PLA settings.
Watch the video below to learn more about the process of making 3D printer filament from beer. 3Dom USA CEO Jake Clark explains :
We get the byproduct from a local major label brewing plant. It’s stuff that would otherwise just be placed in a landfill. We specifically look to make useful supposedly unusable material.
Buzzed is a beer based 3D printing filament made using waste byproducts from the beer making process. Buzzed uses those beer left-overs to create a special 3D printing material with visibly unique print finishes. The filament produces products with a rich golden color and a noticeable natural grain. Now a stein printed with Buzzed is a true “beer stein.”
This is the second in a line of intriguing materials from 3Dom USA called the c2composites. More distinctive bio-based products will be released in the near future.
