Bentley has released some teaser photos and a video of their new 2020 Bentley Flying Spur. The car is camouflaged, and we will get to see the full car later this month.
The new Flying Spur sedan will be unveiled at a press event on the 11th of June. Have a look at the teaser video below.
Innovative All-Wheel Steering
This will be the very first Bentley to feature All-Wheel Steering, enhancing both stability at cruising speeds and agility around town. During high-speed manoeuvres, the electronic system steers the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels, making overtaking and lane-changes more assured. All-Wheel Steering also means no compromise between high speed confidence and low speed convenience.
The All-Wheel Steering system is a significant advancement for Bentley, providing drivers with a blend of performance and practicality. This technology is particularly beneficial in urban environments where tight corners and parking can be challenging. By steering the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels at low speeds, the car achieves a smaller turning circle, making it easier to navigate through congested streets and tight parking spaces.
Advanced All-Wheel Drive System
Like every Flying Spur of recent times, the third incarnation features All-Wheel Drive for optimum traction. For the first time, drive is supplied only to the rear wheels in standard road conditions, giving classic sports sedan handling characteristics. If any slip is detected, the system can instantly send drive to the front wheels, providing active All-Wheel Drive, fully automatically.
This advanced All-Wheel Drive system ensures that the Flying Spur maintains its composure and stability in various driving conditions. Whether you’re cruising on a dry highway or navigating through wet, slippery roads, the system adapts seamlessly to provide the best possible traction. This feature is particularly useful for drivers who encounter diverse weather conditions, ensuring that the car remains safe and stable regardless of the road surface.
Luxurious Interior and Cutting-Edge Technology
The 2020 Bentley Flying Spur is expected to feature a luxurious interior that combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Bentley is known for its attention to detail, and the new Flying Spur will likely include premium materials such as hand-stitched leather, fine wood veneers, and polished metal accents. The cabin will be designed to provide the utmost comfort for both the driver and passengers, with features such as heated and ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and a state-of-the-art infotainment system.
The infotainment system is expected to include a large touchscreen display, advanced navigation, and a premium sound system. Connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging will likely be available, ensuring that drivers and passengers can stay connected and entertained on the go.
Performance and Engine Options
While specific details about the engine options for the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur have not been released, it is expected that the car will offer a range of powerful and efficient engines. Bentley’s current lineup includes a variety of V8 and W12 engines, and it is likely that the new Flying Spur will feature updated versions of these powertrains. These engines are known for their smooth performance and impressive power output, ensuring that the Flying Spur delivers a thrilling driving experience.
In addition to traditional internal combustion engines, Bentley may also offer hybrid or electric powertrain options in the future. As the automotive industry moves towards more sustainable solutions, Bentley is likely to incorporate advanced technologies to reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency.
