We have previously heard rumors that the 2019 iPhones may come with in display fingerprint sensors, this is also something Samsung is rumored to be working on. Now according to a recent report, next years handsets will not feature the technology.
The news comes from respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has revealed that Apple will continue to use Face ID in next years handsets and will not use in display fingerprint technology.
All main Android brands currently treat FOD as the important function to differentiate themselves from iPhone (we expect 2H19 iPhone models will not support FOD). The reasons are as follows: (1) The user feedback on the iPhone is lower than expected. (2) The user feedback on the first FOD smartphone, Vivo’s X21 FOD version, is higher than expected, and (3) FOD is the best fingerprint recognition solution for the full-screen design which is necessary for a high-end smartphone.
Apple are about to reveal their 2018 iPhones, the handset will be made official at a press event next week, we are expecting to see two new iPhone XS handsets and one iPhone 9 device.
