Chevrolet has taken a skilled driver and the 2019 Corvette ZR1 to Virginia International Raceway and dominated the track. The Vette was set loose on the course, called one of the most challenging in the US, and came away with a new production car lap record.
That lap record was 2:37.25 and Chevy says that the car was completely stock. The only thing not stock in the car was a set of racing seats and harnesses for safety. The ZR1 used to set the record was fitted with the $2,995 ZTK Performance Package.
That package includes a big rear wing, front splitter, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and custom suspension turning. Other features include the 8-sped automatic transmission. The same ride would add up to $122,990 plus the cost of the aftermarket racing seats and suspension. A video of the lap is below.
