Development for the new Friday the 13th game was made possible thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $800,000 thanks to over 12,000 backers, on top of the $400,000+ that was raised by 18,000 backers via Backerkit.
This week IGN have released a 17 minute gameplay video providing a good look at what you can expect from the semi-open world third person survival horror game set in a fictional camp of Crystal Lake in the Friday the 13th franchise.
The game is an asymmetrical 1 versus 7 multiplayer game, of which one portrays Jason Voorhees. The objective is for the counselors to survive the night by running from Jason, whom can be defeated by teamwork and planning. The game ends when all the players are killed by Jason, after which a Friday the 13th-themed trailer will play, showcasing highlights of the game. It is a semi-open world game, with players able to explore it further.
