It has been reported this week that since launching in China on Monday, September 29th, two days before China’s week long “golden week holiday”. Microsoft has sold over 100,000 Xbox One next-generation games consoles.
Microsoft launched their Xbox One console on a total of 37 cities throughout China together with 10 ‘government approved’ games that included Forza Motorsport 5.
The Microsoft Xbox One is the very first official video games console to launch in China in 14 years and has already sold a healthy amount of units within just the first few weeks of its launch, unlike the Xbox One launch in Japan which has been met the poor sales.
Zhang and Shanghai Media Group, the parent company of Microsoft’s ChinaIs hoping to sell over 1 million Xbox One consoles in China in the coming year reports 17173.
To re-cap the next generation Microsoft Xbox One games console is powered by a customised AMD Jaguar 8 core processor is equipped with a graphics processor that is tailored for Direct X 11 graphics. Together with 32MB of high bandwidth embedded ESRAM which is supported by 8GB of RAM.
It is still early days for the launch of the Xbox One in China and it will be interesting to see whether Microsoft is capable of meeting its 1 million Xbox One console target over the coming year.
