We are expecting Microsoft to launch Windows 8 in the second part of 2012, probably around September or October time, but now according to a recent report by ZDNet, Microsoft may deliver Windows 8 RTM (Release To Manufacturing) in April of 2012.
The report also says that Microsoft will release the first beta of Windows 8 in September of this year, at the Build Conference 2011, which takes place from the 13th to the 16th of September.

According to the information, Microsoft will also release Windows 8 RC (Release Candidate) at the same time as it releases Windows 8 RTM, which would be April 2012.
Anticipated Features of Windows 8
Windows 8 is expected to bring a host of new features and improvements over its predecessor, Windows 7. One of the most talked-about features is the new Metro user interface, which is designed to be more touch-friendly and is inspired by the design language of Windows Phone. This new interface is expected to make Windows 8 more suitable for tablets and other touchscreen devices, which are becoming increasingly popular.
Another significant feature is the improved boot time. Microsoft has demonstrated that Windows 8 can boot up in as little as 8 seconds, which is a substantial improvement over previous versions of Windows. This is achieved through a combination of a new hybrid boot mode and improvements in the underlying architecture of the operating system.
Windows 8 will also introduce a new Windows Store, similar to app stores on other platforms, where users can download and install applications. This is expected to make it easier for users to find and install software, and for developers to distribute their applications.
Impact on the Market
The release of Windows 8 is expected to have a significant impact on the market, particularly in the area of tablets and touchscreen devices. With its new touch-friendly interface and improved performance, Windows 8 could provide a strong alternative to other tablet operating systems like iOS and Android.
In addition to tablets, Windows 8 is also expected to bring improvements to traditional desktop and laptop computers. The new operating system will include enhancements to the file system, better support for multiple monitors, and improved security features. These improvements are expected to make Windows 8 a compelling upgrade for both consumers and businesses.
We are looking forward to Windows 8; it certainly looks very interesting from what we have seen so far and are especially looking forward to seeing how well the OS performs on tablets and touchscreen devices. The anticipation is high, and many are eager to see if Windows 8 can live up to the hype and deliver a seamless and innovative user experience.
