A project currently on Kickstarter has provides a range of tablet stands, which can be used on either work surfaces or in your car. Currently all parts of the Steelie tablet stands are create by a team of four engineers in their workshop and uses magnets to holder the stand in place when required. Steelie is available as a smaller stand for use in the car and a larger tablet version for use on a desk or counter. The smaller one retails for US$30 and the tabletop is $60.
“STEELIE is an innovative patent-pending system to hold your tablet, phone or any other device and freely position it how you like. The unique ball-and-socket design magnetically connect and allow you to easily adjust the device to your preferred position. A simple tug on the device releases the connection.”
