Nintendo 3DS Owners Reporting Black Screen Of Death

The Nintendo 3DS went on sale in the UK last Friday and in the US over the weekend, and now it seems that some 3DS owners are reporting problems with Nintendo’s new handheld 3D console.

The guys over at GoNintendo even experienced the issue, and you can see what the so called ‘black screen of death’ looks like in the second photo below, and a number of other 3DS owners have also reported the problem.

This is the error I received when I was playing Super Monkey Ball 3D, and some others have gotten it during that game as well. We’ve heard that the error pops up during Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition as well.

It isn’t clear as yet how widespread the problem is and how many users have experienced it, if you have got one of the new Nintendo 3DS consoles, leave a comment below to let us know if you have had any problems as we are interested to find out just how many users are having problems.

I wouldn’t call this a black screen of death, this is just what the 3DS operating system shows when the application crashes – mostly due to an error the developer didn’t catch. On a development system, the top screen shows more error info, don’t know what the retail one shows… Nothing I guess

I;m on my second 3ds and still….i get the dam error….i got mine from eb Australia…the firmware is useless….i hope its not hardware issue cause i will refund it…its just not worth the hassle.

Come on what’s with these errors !! first RROD then RLOD on xbox consoles and now BSOD on Nintendo !!
best thing is to get your self a super computer, m18x for an example
