Kingston KC100 Business SSD Launches with Speed and Security

Kingston has unveiled its latest SSD and this time the SSD is aimed at the business users. The SSD is called the SSDNow KC100. It is designed to work with the SATA 6Gb/s port and uses a SandForce controller. It also has a 5-year warranty and special features just for the business users.

The SSD is the only business class SSD to offer enterprise-level SMART attributes according to Kingston. The SSD will let the administrator view stats from SMART monitoring tools like the health of the drive and life stage. The SSD also encrypts the data on the drive in real-time.

The KC100 has dual embedded encryption engines that run AES-128 and AES-256. The encryption takes place as the data is written without putting a strain on the system and without slowing the data transfer down. The SSD comes in up to 480GB capacities, will come stand alone, and in upgrade packs for $337 to $1,285 depending on the capacity.
