Huawei recently announced the new Ascend G600, which is expected to launch in Europe sometime this month, and now the handset has turned up at the FCC.
As a reminder, the device comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and features a 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 540 x 860 pixels. Processing is provided by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor.

Camera and Storage Capabilities
Other specifications on the Huawei Ascend G600 include an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus, which is capable of capturing high-quality images and videos. The camera is designed to perform well in various lighting conditions, making it a versatile option for photography enthusiasts. Additionally, the device features 768MB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage. While 4GB might seem limited by today’s standards, the device also supports expandable storage via a microSD card slot, allowing users to increase their storage capacity significantly.
Connectivity and Additional Features
The Huawei Ascend G600 is equipped with a range of connectivity options, including WiFi Direct, DLNA, and Bluetooth. WiFi Direct allows for direct wireless connections between devices without the need for a wireless access point, making it easier to share files and media. DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) support enables the device to connect and stream media to other DLNA-compatible devices, such as smart TVs and home entertainment systems. Bluetooth connectivity ensures seamless pairing with various peripherals, such as wireless headphones, speakers, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices.
The device also includes a 1930mAh battery, which is expected to provide a decent amount of usage time, ensuring that users can stay connected throughout the day. The battery life is further optimized by the power-efficient dual-core processor and the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, which includes various power-saving features.
The Huawei Ascend G600 will retail for around 300 Euros when it goes on sale later this month. As yet, we do not have an exact launch date, but the appearance at the FCC suggests that the release is imminent.
In terms of design, the Ascend G600 features a sleek and modern look, with a slim profile that makes it comfortable to hold and use. The 4.5-inch display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, which adds durability and resistance to scratches and minor impacts. This makes the device suitable for everyday use, even in more demanding environments.
The user interface of the Ascend G600 is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, with easy access to essential apps and features. The Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system provides a smooth and responsive experience, with support for a wide range of apps available on the Google Play Store. Users can customize their home screens, widgets, and settings to suit their preferences, making the device highly personalized.
Overall, the Huawei Ascend G600 offers a compelling combination of features, performance, and value for money. Its competitive pricing, coupled with its robust specifications, makes it an attractive option for consumers looking for a reliable and versatile smartphone. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a media consumer, or someone who needs a dependable device for everyday tasks, the Ascend G600 is worth considering.
