COOL LEAF Mirror Keyboard

Designed and created by Minebea these futuristic concept mirror keyboards are based on next generation input systems Minebea has named COOL LEAF.

The COOL LEAF keyboards and input devices have no physical keys and use a backlight mirror surfaces with a special film, electrostatic capacity type touch panel with touch force sensors below to recognise input signals.

The COOL LEAF devices apart from looking fantastic are also a lot easier to keep clean that traditional keyboards.

Minebea is looking to continue its development of the COOL LEAF technology and hopes to develop production versions for digital devices, telecommunication equipment, housing equipment, and medical equipment.

These all look very nice, I hope they make it in to production. I think one major problem with keyboards is that they are difficult to clean – I would seriously think about getting one of these for the office and one for home if they do make it out of concept and into production.

After dishing out $70 on my Apple Wireless keyboard – which is basically the MacBook keyboard ripped out – I am more than certain I would grab at least two of these to make my office a tad… cleaner looking.

Awesome concept, now show me the real thing.
