I am a big fan of remote controlled toys. My tastes lean more towards those big nitro powered RC cars that can go 80mph than small battery powered cars though. However, when the RC car looks like the Nissan GTR and uses an Android phone for controls I am interested. This car is on KickStarter and is called the BlueDrone.
The car is a small 1:20 scale Nissan GTR that measures in at 8″ x 3.2″ x 2.75″ and it weighs 0.60 pounds. The small size of the car means it can get power from three AAA batteries. The smartphone app for Android devices uses Bluetooth connectivity to connect to the BlueDrone car.
The driver can use either onscreen controls or tilt to steer the RC car. The Bluetooth range is 30-feet and it can pair with up to eight devices. The project is seeking $200,000 in funding to come to market. So far, it has under $3000 of that amount and only 25 days to go.Filed Under: Android News, Toys
