Google was interested on getting their hands on Twitch last year, the company ended up being bought by Amazon for close to $1 billion and not its looks like Google has plans for YouTube to take on Twitch.
According to a recent report, Google has plans to launch a rival live game and eSports streaming service on YouTube.
Google has apparently assembled a team of 50 engineers to work on the new project, all of these engineers apparently have expertise in the streaming industry.
In 2013 in the US and Europe Google started streaming the League of Legends Championship Series, although this was not exclusive to Google it was also available on Twitch and this is where the majority of people watched the series.
Google will have some work to do if it wants to take on Twitch, it will be interesting to see if the company is capable of competing with Twitch and launching a rival service that will get viewers.
