Recently, NPD Group released their statistics for the month of January, suggesting that Xbox One is more popular compared to its predecessor, suggesting again that it’s the best launch in Xbox history.
According to the report, Xbox One was sold at a rate of 2.29 times faster than the Xbox 360 in the U.S. in the same timeframe for the first three months on the market.
According to the figures from the NPD Group, Xbox sold the most games across all console platforms in January with 2.27 million units sold, makings its software market share rise to 47 percent.
During the month of January, Xbox (both Xbox One and Xbox 360) held five out of top 10 titles console game title list in the U.S, including “Battlefield 4,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts” (Xbox 360 and Xbox One), “Grand Theft Auto V” and “Minecraft.”
“Gamers love Xbox and our community has never been more vibrant on the industry-leading Xbox Live service. Since launch, over 2.6 billion global Gamerscore has been achieved, 165 million global achievements have been unlocked and 130 million global Game DVR clips have been uploaded,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.
And it could get much better with the launch of Titanfall, which is exclusive to Xbox One, 360 and PC.
The report also mentioned Sony PS4 sales are higher than the sales of the Xbox One, almost two to one. But, it’s just a start, the consoles wars are going to get fierce with the launch of more exclusive games on both platforms.
