Microsoft has today announced that their new next-generation Xbox One games console will finally be arriving in Japan on September 4th 2014 confirming the Xbox One Japan release date.
During its launch in Japan the new Xbox One will be available with a variety of games including Forza 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Sunset Overdrive, Halo on Xbox One, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome to name a few.
It will be interesting to see whether Microsoft will be able to turn the tide on its troubled Xbox sales within Japan. During which Microsoft has seen sales of the original Xbox and Xbox 360 far below that of their competitors in Japan. In an interview last year Xbox boss Phil Spencer explained :
“The Japanese development community remains incredibly important to us, and we’re continuing to invest there,”-“We’re having great conversations with people. We’re not announcing anything, but I can say both RPGs and specifically the Japanese developers are really important to our ecosystem.”
To recap the Microsoft Xbox One is powered by a customised AMD Jaguar 8 core processor is equipped with a graphics processor that is tailored for Direct X 11 graphics.
Together with 32MB of high bandwidth embedded ESRAM which is supported by 8GB of RAM that when combined offer support for full HD video in 1080p and the new Ultra HD 4k video standard.
