Microsoft released Windows 8.1 last week, and the Windows RT 8.1 update for Microsoft’s Surface tablet was also made available, although it would appear that this had now been removed from the Windows Store by Microsoft.
The Windows RT 8.1 update was apparently removed from the Windows Store, after a number of owners of Windows RT devices started having issues with the update.
Microsoft has not released any information on exactly what the issue is with the Windows RT 8.1 update, although they did release the following statement.
Microsoft is investigating a situation affecting a limited number of users updating their Windows RT devices to Windows RT 8.1. As a result, we have temporarily removed the Windows RT 8.1 update from the Windows Store. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience. We will provide updates as they become available.
As soon as we get some more information on what problems are being caused by the update ad also information on when the Windows RT 8.1 update will be available again, we will let you guys know.
