Few weeks back, Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore held an AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit where he answered a lot of important questions related to the Windows Phone operating system. One of those was about the official File Manager for Windows Phone devices.
Belfiore said it will come soon, possibly by the end of this month. If you’re using a Windows Phone handset, you be glad to find out that the official file manager app for Windows Phone, dubbed as Files, is now live in the Windows Phone Store. Unfortunately, the app is only compatible with Windows Phone 8.1, but don’t worry, Microsoft said the latest update will hit all existing Windows Phone devices later this year.
The application give users the ability to access files stored in the phone memory as well as the SD card. You can browse files, search for them and even launch them from the app. It’s not just browsing, you can also copy/move contents from phone to SD card and vice versa, even organize them in folders as you like.
Simply head over to the Windows Phone Store and grab the app. Also let us know what you think about it if you’ve already tried it.
