It looks like Microsoft has finished Windows Phone 8, and their new OS has reached the RTM or Release to Manufacturing stage, which means that the various handset makers will now have the final version of Windows Phone 8.
Windows Phone 8 has been in development since 2011, and now it has reached the RTM or Gold stage means that this is the final step for Windows Phone 8 before the new devices go on sale.
Microsoft have yet to reveal the full list of features that will be in Windows Phone 8 when it is launched, and the next expected step before the Windows Phone 8 devices go on sale is the release of the Windows Phone 8 SDK.
Microsoft are expected to release the Windows Phone 8 SDK shortly and the first Windows Phone 8 smartphones are expected to launch some time in November.
