Bears. Cougars (the feral felines, mind you). Raccoons. Wolves. Wild Stallions. Nature can be vicious and aggressive. So when going mano-a-mano with a combative animal is not an option, Taser has the right defensive tool for you; the new ‘Wildlife Management’ Taser is perfect for electrocuting your way out of potentially fatal confrontations against otherwise defenseless creatures.
We can’t help noticing the irony of calling it a “Wildlife Management” device, since managing wildlife doesn’t seem to make sense unless you’re a Park Ranger guarding a nature preserve. Still, unless you’re descended from a long line of rugged mountain men who drink the blood of their fallen quarry, beating animals away with a stick isn’t a good idea. So this Wildlife Taser, which is basically an outdoors version of the Taser X3 from 2009, is an all-weather water proof variant that can engage targets from 35 feet away.
It also has a bunch of new features like monitors for electrical charge diffusion and a Range Adjusted Dual Laser System for optimum performance. Oh, and it carries three cartridges.
Here’s a chunk of the promotional lit explainign its virtues:
“While TASER strongly believes that the modification of human behavior is the key to the management of human-animal conflicts, it sometimes becomes necessary for wildlife managers to utilize tools to modify animal behavior. Wildlife professionals use some of the same tools as law enforcement such as chemical, visual, and acoustic repellents, distraction devices, and various projectiles TASER has taken its law enforcement ECD and partnered with wildlife managers to produce a new device specific for large animal use to supplement their tool options. TASER is also developing research and training programs in cooperation with its wildlife partners to support the safe use of ECDs for wildlife.”
