Apple are holding their iPad 5 event later today, the event takes place at 10AM PDT at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Apple are expected to announce their new iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2, we are also expecting to see a new range of MacBook Pro’s, and possibly a new Apple TV.
The iPad 5 is rumored to come with a slimmer design, which is more like that of the iPad Mini, the device will feature Apple’s new 64-bit A7 processor and it is also expected to feature more RAM than the current model.
Along with the design changes to the iPad, the iPad 5 will also come with Apple’s new Touch ID fingerprint sensor, the device will also get the same color scheme as the iPhone 5S.
The iPad 5 will be available in gold, silver and space gray, it will come with the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS, Apple iOS 7, the iPad Mini is expected to feature many of the same specifications as the iPad 5.
The iPad Mini 2 is rumored to feature a Retina Display, it will also come with Apple’s new A7 processor, and will feature more RAM than the previous model.
The device is also rumored to come with Touch ID and it will apparently be available in the same colors, space gray, gold and silver, we have already seen a number of pictures of the tablet.
Yesterday we heard that Apple had released an updated version of OS X Mavericks Gold Master, we are expecting Apple to announce a launch date for Mavericks, which will be some time before the end of the month.
There have been rumors that a new Apple TV will also be announced at the event, although this may not happen as there are reports that the device has been delayed.
One thing we are looking forward to finding out at the event is the launch date of Apple’s new Mac Pro, this new device is rumored to go on sale some time in November.
We can also expect to find out details on how many iPhone handsets Apple has sold, which will include the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, Apple sold 9 million of these on the first weekend, we are not expecting them to announce individual sales figures for each device.
Apple iOS 7 adoption figures are also expected to be announced at the event, yesterday we heard that around 73 percent of Apple’s iOS devices were using iOS 7, of course we should get some accurate figures from Apple later today.
We are not expecting any surprises at the event, although you never know with Apple, we doubt we will see the new Apple iWatch and Apple HDTV as these devices are rumored to launch in 2014.
