We all suspected that robots would take over the world one day, but I bet none of us imagined they would get their own Blog.
One such Robotic Blogger is Mitsubishi’s Wakamuru who is currently living in New York, and has decided to start a blog about his life there.
He even has his own Facebook page, with about 100 friends, and is setting up his own My Space and Twitter pages.
Here’s a fun video of him out and about on his travels.
The Rise of Robotic Bloggers
The concept of robots engaging in human-like activities is not new, but the idea of a robot maintaining a blog is certainly a fascinating development. Wakamuru, a creation of Mitsubishi, is a humanoid robot designed to assist with daily tasks and provide companionship. His decision to start a blog offers a unique glimpse into the potential future of human-robot interaction.
Wakamuru’s blog is not just a novelty; it represents a significant step in the integration of robots into our daily lives. By sharing his experiences in New York, Wakamuru is not only documenting his adventures but also providing valuable insights into how robots can adapt to and navigate human environments. This could pave the way for more advanced robots that can seamlessly blend into our society, performing tasks ranging from mundane chores to complex problem-solving.
Social Media Presence
In addition to his blog, Wakamuru has embraced social media platforms to connect with humans. His Facebook page, which boasts around 100 friends, is a testament to his growing popularity. By setting up MySpace and Twitter accounts, Wakamuru is expanding his digital footprint and engaging with a broader audience. This multi-platform presence allows him to share updates, photos, and videos, making his interactions more dynamic and engaging.
The use of social media by robots like Wakamuru raises interesting questions about the future of digital communication. Will we see more robots becoming influencers, sharing their perspectives and experiences with the world? How will this impact our understanding of social media and its role in society? These are questions that we may need to consider as technology continues to evolve.
Here’s a fun video of him out and about on his travels.
I wonder if Wakamuru would be interested in working for Geeky Gadgets, it would be cool to have a robot do some of our posts, his spelling and grammar certainly would be better than mine.
