Volkswagen has revealed a convertible version of their T-Roc SUV, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet, and the car will be launching in 2020.
The new T-Roc Cabriolet will be available with both the Style and R-Line models at launch. Pricing has yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be less than £30,000 in the UK.
With this world premiere, Volkswagen breathes new life into the SUV segment. As the first crossover convertible in the compact class, the new T-Roc Cabriolet combines the looks and strengths of classic SUVs with the unique driving experience of a convertible. The clear message of “Accept no roof” promises a sense of freedom – a literal breath of fresh air in the SUV segment and a highly emotive driving experience. The T-Roc delivers on this promise and brings a bit of colour to everyday life, thanks to its serious cool factor.
Design and Features
The Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet stands out with its bold design and innovative features. The exterior boasts a sleek, modern look with a distinctive front grille and LED headlights. The convertible roof is made from high-quality fabric and can be opened or closed in just 9 seconds, even while driving at speeds up to 30 km/h. This feature ensures that drivers can quickly adapt to changing weather conditions without having to stop the vehicle.
Inside, the T-Roc Cabriolet offers a spacious and comfortable cabin with premium materials and advanced technology. The infotainment system includes a large touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a premium sound system. Additionally, the car comes with a range of driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking, making it both a stylish and safe choice for drivers.
Performance and Engine Options
Under the hood, the T-Roc Cabriolet offers a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines. The base model comes with a 1.0-liter TSI engine that produces 115 horsepower, while the more powerful option is a 1.5-liter TSI engine with 150 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, but a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is also available for those who prefer an automatic driving experience.
The T-Roc Cabriolet’s performance is further enhanced by its agile handling and responsive steering, making it a joy to drive on both city streets and winding country roads. The car’s suspension system has been specifically tuned to provide a smooth and comfortable ride, even with the roof down.
