Video Lan the makers of the awesome VLC media player have this week rolled out a new update taking their software to version 2.02, and bringing a wealth of new features to the player.

Together with support for retina screens, the Retina Display (HiDPI) on the new Apple MacBook Pro is now natively supported. As well as support for Growl 1.3 and the removal of the font cache waiting period. Now VLC will still find your fonts but not force you to wait while it does.
