Last month, Sony unveiled the Android Wear powered Smartwatch 3 which made its first appearance at the Google Play Store a few days back.
Recently, Verizon started taking pre-orders for the Sony Smartwatch 3 for $249.99. The carrier mentioned it will start shipping out the pre-orders from October 30th.
Sony Smartwatch 3 runs Android Wear as its operating system out of the box, and is compatible with all Android devices running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher as their operating system. There’s a 1.6-inch display sporting a resolution of 320 by 320 pixels, and features a stainless steel back panel for a premium look.
The smartwatch is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. Sony Smartwatch 3 also comes with IP68 certification which makes the smartwatch dust and water resistant. Furthermore, there’s a 420 mAh battery which can provide a battery time of up to two days in a single charge.
If Verizon is not your preferred choice, you can wait for a little while as Google will sell it online at the Google Play Store. It’s currently listed online as coming soon, but it should hit retail in the coming days.
