Verizon are holding a special press event tomorrow, and it looks like the company may finally unveil the Verizon iPhone, which we have been hearing rumors about over the last 12 months.
AT&T has had exclusivity for the iPhone since the first model went on sale in 2007, that has now ended and Verizon is about to announce that it will also start selling the iPhone on its mobile network.
A Verizon iPhone is great news for consumers and also Apple, it will give consumers more choice than just one network, and it is bound to increase sales of the iPhone significantly.
Here in the UK the iPhone has been available on all of the major mobile networks for about a year, this has meant better deals for iPhone customers and more choice, so we will probably see the same thing happening in the US.
It will be interesting to see how a Verizon iPhone effects AT&T, whether a lot of AT&T iPhone customers will switch to Verizon, although many will probably wait until the iPhone 5 is released later this year as they will otherwise face fees to switch to another mobile network.
