LEGO project inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s Tamburo Meccanico

Lego builders might be interested in a new Lego Drum Machine inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s Tamburo Meccanico. Da Vinci’s Tamburo Meccanico is a mechanical drum machine design that uses music box style cylinders with pins to create drum patterns. Check out the video below to learn more about what you can expect from the project by Lego Master builder Giuseppe Acito, also creator of the Toa Mata Band.

LEGO Drum Machine Inspired By Leonardo Da Vinci’s Tamburo Meccanico

“It consists of a four tracks rhythm machine which mechanically generates the electric impulses needed to trigger the drum synth and the bass-line sync. On the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death, this is my personal tribute to his genius who in the late 1400 introduced the first automated musical instrument and the concept of step #sequencer. ”

Features of the build include “

– A four track rhythm machine which mechanically generates the electric impulses needed to trigger the drum synth and the bass-line sync.
– Introduced by Leonardo in the late 1400, first automated musical instrument and the concept of step sequencer.
– The nonlinearity of the system made in ABS, generates a sort of shuffle rhythm and some random ghost notes, which creates an unpredictable organic groove.
