A new DIY robot kit based on the Arduino platform has been created by KLiK Robotics based in the United Kingdom, providing a fun way to learn more about programming, electronics and robotics in one easy to build balancing robot kit which provides everything you need. The small robot has been specifically designed to inspire creativity allowing you to use the Arduino development platform, Scratch or similar to program the robot and its commands. Technical specifications of the balancing robot kit include :
• Acrylic Chassis
• Open Source Arduino based Microcontroller
• MPU 6050 MEMS Module Tri-Axis Gyroscope, Tri-Axis Accelerometer
• HC-SR04 Ultrasound Module
• TB6612FNG Motor Driver Board
• HC-05 Bluetooth Module
The software is written in C/C++ which, according to IEEE SPECTRUM, is the computer language most in demand by recruiting companies. The software is free for you to download, modify or completely rewrite. If the campaign is successful, we will be setting up a forum for you to share your code with the community. We recommend the Arduino development platform. Check out the S4A project too! T-BOTS use a combination of accelerometers and gyroscopes to precisely measure the tilt. This information is used to calculate the necessary motor response for the robot to maintain its balance. There are numerous ways of achieving this; both simple and complex. The T-BOT has an ultrasound distance-measuring module for eyes, providing the user with scope to write algorithms for the robots to interact with their environment or each other.
The T-BOTS robot kit is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges starting from £45 and delivery expected to take place during April 2018. For full specifications and more information jump over to the official Kickstarter campaign page via the link below.
