The Surface Pro, Microsoft’s premier tablet device that’s the reason why Windows 8 exists, is receiving a price cut of $100 to both its 64GB and 128GB models. This is shortly after the price of the Surface RT was cut by 30% after horrible sale outcomes that cost the company $900 million last quarter.
The price cut took effect this weekend and seems to be here to stay, although no official word has been made to say for certain that the cut is permanent. For now, you can be sure to get the Surface Pro for $100 off until August 29th.
You may want to rethink that purchase though. Microsoft has already come out and said it might be releasing updated versions of the Surface RT and the Surface Pro that sport the Snapdragon 800 processor or possibly a Haswell processor. The company also plans to release both editions with new colors soon.
Honestly, the only reason I’d use a Surface anything is if someone gave me one for free – and even then I’d use it just to get a quick buck by turning around and selling it for cheap. But that’s just a reflection of my opinion on tablets.
Does the price cut make the Surface a more viable option for you?
