Starbucks has this week released a new update to their iOS application and Starbucks payment card service that now allows users to use Apple Pay to add more credit to their Starbucks card.
The latest Starbucks iOS app is now available to download as version 3.2.1 and enables users to use Apple Pay to quickly reload their Starbucks Card, using the Apples Touch ID security feature on newer smartphones and Apple tablets to make the process even quicker.
Even though Starbucks were listed as an Apple Pay partner back in October 2014 when Apple first launched their new Apple Pay service. It has taken Starbucks quite some time to integrate the new payment system into their application and be supported by their payment card. Starbucks explains :
“Introducing Apple Pay and a Few Helpful Changes : Now you can use Apple Pay to quickly reload your Starbucks Card. Touch ID makes it faster than ever. By popular demand, the menu is enhanced. When you browse our menu you’ll now find additional calorie information on menu items. We’ve also enhanced the experience for Mobile Order & Pay in Portland. “
