Jet Blue will be the first Airline in the US that will accept payments in flight for food and drinks using Apple Pay.
The company is equipping its flight attendants with iPad Mini’s that will be able to accept Apple Pay payments, they will also be used for normal credit card payments.
The new Apple Pay payment service will be available in jet Blue flights from next week, and customers will be able to make payments using their iPhone 6 and 6 Plus smartphones.
The first flights were Apple’s payment system will be available will be between JFK and LA and San Francisco, more flights will also get the mobile payment system in March.
Apple has been gaining more support for its mobile payments system, although the company still has a long way to go to become a mainstream payment system. Around 750 banks and credit unions have signed up to the service as have a wide range of merchants.
