Spotify has added a new feature to its music streaming service, the ability for artists to sell merchandise on Spotify, and it will not be charging artists to use the service.
Spotify has been running this feature for a while as a trial with around 200 artists, and the ability to sell merchandise will now be available to all artists on Spotify.
We’re excited to announce that, from today, any artist can now list their merchandise within Spotify, for free!
In partnership with Topspin, artists will be able to display t-shirts, vinyl, posters, bundles and other merchandise to all of you.
There are zero fees or commissions from Spotify or Topspin and artists don’t need to change how they sell merchandise.
Spotify has partnered with Topspin to sell merchandise on the platform, they will also not be taking any cut of the sales, so 100 percent of the merchandise will go to the artists.
The new merchandise feature on Spotify will be available in the US, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and Sweden.
