Spin Remote

Remote controls can easily start mounting up if you have a number of devices within your home, apparently the average household has 3 remote controls laying around in the living room. Causing problems whenever one is lost downside of your sofa or carried off by your pet or small child. This is where SPIN Remote hopes to help.

SPIN Remote has been specifically designed to provide an alternative to multiple controllers and has been designed to “work with what you have ready for what you want”, says its creators.

Spin Remote

The SPIN Remote project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise €100,000 in pledges to make the jump from concept to production.

“We asked ourselves: Do we really need yet another remote for every device we buy? Should we really have to point our remote at the device we want to control? Does a remote control really need that many buttons while we only use a handful? And does it even need buttons at all?

So after you have completed the one-time setup for all of your devices, what do you really use your remote controls for? If you are like us, you probably just turn them on one by one, use the first remote to control volume, the second to change channel and perhaps a third to watch a movie.
SPIN remote does not replace all buttons of all of your remotes, it just brings together the ones that you really use.

SPIN remote contains 6 high-intensity infrared LEDs, making it possible to learn from your old remotes and blast out commands to your devices with 360-degree coverage. It is equiped with a low energy Bluetooth (LE) module, so that SPIN remote can connect to other smart devices and communicate with the mobile App. SPIN remote is packed with sensors, allowing it to detect motion, rotation, orientation, touch and even proximity.”

So if you think the SPIN Remote is something your gadgets could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website via the link below to make a pledge and help SPIN Remote become a reality with pledges starting from just €69.
