Spark the company that launched their new Spark Core Arduino compatible Wi-Fi for everything module over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website last year.
Has this week announced the launch of their new cloud OS today that they have developed. Together with a $4.9 million Series A round of funding, the company has secured to help expansion and development of their products.
The new Spark OS is a distributed operating system that has been designed to enable servers in the Cloud do the heavy processing whilst your real world device remains slimline and compact but still benefits from complex and intelligent behaviours.
“We live in a world where we’re all connected through our phones and laptops, but many of the products around us are still waiting to be reinvented,” Spark’s founder Zach Supalla said. “With the Spark OS, we hope to make it easier to build amazing new connected products to foster innovation in areas where it’s far overdue.”
The original Spark Core module has been designed to help users develop connected devices in hours rather than weeks and using the new Spark cloud OS any number of devices and projects can be connected via the Internet of Things.
