Sony has this week added a new addition to their range of Handycam camcorders, in the form of the newly launched Sony HDR-GW66VE.
The new Sony HDR-GW66VE has been designed to withstand being submerged to a depth of 10 metres for up to an hour, and is also fully dustproof and shockproof up to a height of 1.5 metres. This makes it an ideal choice for adventurers, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who needs a reliable camcorder in challenging environments.
Advanced Recording Capabilities
The Sony HDR-GW66VE Handycam camcorder can capture footage at a maximum resolution of 1080p (50 fps), in a choice of AVCHD, MPEG2, or MP4 formats. This flexibility allows users to choose the best format for their needs, whether they are looking for high-quality video for professional use or more compressed formats for easier sharing and storage. Additionally, the camcorder is capable of taking 20-megapixel still photographs, ensuring that users can capture high-resolution images alongside their video recordings.
The camcorder’s advanced recording capabilities are further enhanced by its F1.8 – F3.4 G lens, which provides excellent low-light performance and a wide aperture range for creative depth-of-field effects. The 4.6-mm back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS Sensor ensures that the camcorder can capture clear, detailed footage even in challenging lighting conditions.
Durability and Versatility
One of the standout features of the Sony HDR-GW66VE is its durability. The camcorder’s waterproof design means it can be used in a variety of wet environments, from underwater filming to capturing footage in the rain. Its dustproof and shockproof construction also makes it a reliable choice for use in dusty or rugged conditions, such as hiking, biking, or other outdoor activities.
The camcorder’s compact and lightweight design makes it easy to carry and handle, even during extended shooting sessions. Its intuitive controls and user-friendly interface ensure that users can quickly and easily access all of the camcorder’s features, making it a great choice for both novice and experienced videographers.
In addition to its impressive durability and recording capabilities, the Sony HDR-GW66VE also offers a range of other useful features. These include built-in GPS for geotagging footage, which can be particularly useful for documenting travel and outdoor adventures. The camcorder also includes a range of shooting modes and creative options, such as slow-motion recording and time-lapse photography, allowing users to experiment with different filming techniques and styles.
The Sony HDR-GW66VE will be available this June. Unfortunately, no information on pricing has been released as yet. However, given its range of advanced features and robust design, it is likely to be a popular choice among consumers looking for a high-quality, versatile camcorder.
