The majority of processors that are currently in smartphones are 1GHz processors, and many Android smartphones comes with the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
A couple are starting to ship with slightly faster 1.2GHz processors, and it looks like by the end of the year the majority of new smartphones will come with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor.
Qulacomm has produced a 1.5GHz dual core processor which is a follow up to the popular Snapdragon processor, and it is designed to offer better power management, plus the ability to handle Full HD video playback in 1080p.
