Sling TV has announced that it is launching a new cloud DVR service and it will be available in December in beta.
The new cloud DVR will be available in beta at first and will be made available on Roku devices first.
Here at Sling TV, we’re all about giving our customers what they want. And we know that sometimes you just don’t have time to watch your favorite sports, shows and movies when they air live. So, starting in a few weeks, we’re rolling out a beta program for our brand new cloud DVR feature.
Available starting in December, the cloud DVR beta program will roll out first on Roku™ streaming players and Roku TV™s. Customers who subscribe to Sling Orange and/or Sling Blue using Roku devices may request an invitation for the beta program by visiting www.sling.com/dvr. At launch, customers selected for the beta program will receive 100 hours of cloud DVR storage at no charge.
Features and Benefits of Sling TV’s Cloud DVR
The introduction of the cloud DVR service by Sling TV is a significant enhancement for users who want more flexibility in how they consume content. The cloud DVR allows users to record their favorite shows, sports events, and movies, ensuring they never miss out on any content due to time constraints. This feature is particularly beneficial for busy individuals who cannot always watch live broadcasts.
One of the standout features of Sling TV’s cloud DVR is the generous 100 hours of storage provided at no additional cost during the beta phase. This ample storage capacity allows users to save a substantial amount of content without worrying about running out of space. Additionally, the cloud-based nature of the DVR means that recordings can be accessed from any compatible device, providing a seamless viewing experience across different platforms.
How to Join the Beta Program
Joining the beta program for Sling TV’s cloud DVR is straightforward. Customers who are interested in participating need to be subscribers of either Sling Orange or Sling Blue and use Roku devices. To request an invitation, users can visit the dedicated page at www.sling.com/dvr. This process ensures that only eligible users can take advantage of the new feature during its initial rollout phase.
Once selected for the beta program, users will receive instructions on how to activate and use the cloud DVR service. This includes details on how to record content, manage storage, and access recordings. The beta phase is an excellent opportunity for users to provide feedback and help Sling TV refine the service before its full launch.
