Those of you that would like an integrated physical keyboard on your smartphone, you may be interested in the new Android smartphone called the F(x)tec Pro 1. The Pro1 is a new premium Android smartphone with a sliding, angled landscape QWERTY keyboard which will be launching later this year priced at $649. Preorders are now available and shipping is expected to take place sometime around June 2019.
The Pro1 smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor and the SoC features an octa-core Kryo 280 CPU running up to 2.45GHz supported by Adreno 540 GPU for high-speed graphics. Showcased at this week’s Mobile World Congress 2019 conference F(x)tec has evolved from a project to build a slide-out keyboard Moto Mod for Motorola’s Moto Z smartphones. “Last year the developers at Livermorium announced plans to scrap that product and just design their own phone. And last month they rebranded as F(x) Technology… before becoming F(x)tec” explains Brad Linder at Liliputing.
“Our QWERTY keyboard features five staggered rows in a full 64-key sliding landscape layout, under an angled screen. This provides an optimal typing and viewing experience while on the go. Our unique and innovative key design gives our keyboard a responsive, tactile feel for greater comfort and precision while typing. The slider tilts the screen to a 155 degree angle for optimal viewing of documents and media on the go. By combining the best of Android Pie with a unique landscape QWERTY keyboard, the Pro1 provides full access to the Android ecosystem, including services like Google Play, Google Assistant, and Google Pay.”
