Bethesda, the creators of the awesome Skyrim game which has now come to the end of its development cycle, has announced the launch of what’s probably the final version of the Skyrim game in the form of the Skyrim Legendary Edition.
The Skyrim Legendary Edition has been rumoured for some time and will be launching in June for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It will cost $60 and offers the complete Skyrim collection.
Skyrim Legendary Edition will be launching on June 4th, 2013, in North America and June 7th across Europe. It includes the most up-to-date version of the original game (employing the 1.9 title update), as well as the game’s three add-ons: Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn.
What’s Included in the Legendary Edition?
The Legendary Edition is a comprehensive package that not only includes the base game but also all the downloadable content (DLC) that has been released for Skyrim. The three major DLCs included are:
1. Dawnguard: This expansion focuses on the conflict between the Dawnguard, an order of vampire hunters, and the Volkihar Clan, a powerful group of vampires. Players can choose to join either side, leading to different quests and storylines. The DLC also introduces new weapons, armor, and abilities, including the ability to become a vampire lord.
2. Hearthfire: Unlike the other expansions, Hearthfire is more focused on the player’s home life. It allows players to purchase land and build their own homes from the ground up. Players can customize their homes with various rooms and features, adopt children, and even hire staff to help maintain their household.
3. Dragonborn: This expansion takes players to the island of Solstheim, where they encounter new quests, characters, and enemies. The main storyline revolves around the return of Miraak, the first Dragonborn, who poses a significant threat to the player. The DLC also introduces new shouts, spells, and the ability to tame and ride dragons.
Why the Legendary Edition is a Must-Have
For fans of the Elder Scrolls series, the Skyrim Legendary Edition is a must-have. Not only does it offer the complete Skyrim experience, but it also provides a significant amount of additional content that enhances the game. The inclusion of all three DLCs means that players will have access to a wealth of new quests, items, and abilities that were not available in the base game.
Moreover, the 1.9 title update included in the Legendary Edition brings several improvements and bug fixes to the game. This update adds a new Legendary difficulty setting, which provides a greater challenge for experienced players. It also introduces the Legendary skill system, allowing players to reset their skills to 15 and continue leveling up, effectively removing the level cap.
The Legendary Edition is also a great value for new players who have not yet experienced Skyrim. For $60, players get the base game and all the DLCs, which would cost significantly more if purchased separately. This makes it an excellent entry point for those who are new to the series or looking to revisit the game with all the additional content.
The Skyrim Legendary Edition is a fitting end to the game’s development cycle. It offers a complete and enhanced Skyrim experience that is sure to satisfy both new and returning players. With its wealth of content and improvements, it stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of one of the most beloved games of its generation.
