GoPro action camera photographers that sometimes find themselves requiring extra illumination to film certain subject and footage of their exploits, may be interested in a new GoPro mounted light called Sidekick.
The Sidekick GoPro light has been created by Light & Motion and is completely waterproof and capable of withstanding pressure from up to 200 feet underwater. Watch the video below to learn more about this innovative new edition to your GoPro action camera accessories.
The Sidekick project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $50,000 in pledges and make the jump from concept to manufacture. Its creators explain a little more :
“Sidekick is a companion light for GoPro cameras that provides a wide smooth 600 lumen beam to complement the camera in low light or backlit conditions where a strong fill light can make a huge difference in the quality of the images.
The key design drivers are light weight, powerful wide flood beam, and seamless mounting to allow Sidekick to go wherever a GoPro camera goes. To keep it lightweight, Sidekick uses Li-ion rechargeable battery delivering the best power to weight ratio and top of the line Cree XM-L U2 LED. Charging is external so the user never needs to open or compromise the light’s seal.
Variations on Sidekick include the addition of a spot beam for navigation on the Duo model and an accessory mount that allows the light to mount on top of the camera specifically for underwater imaging.”
If you think the GoPro Sidekick light is something your photography could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help Sidekick become a reality, with pledges starting from just $80.
