Kids just love the sea (and swimming for that matter). Aside from dabbling in sand castles and assorted diversions, the younglings are susceptible to taking a dip in the wave ridden waters. A point of concern for many parents, Opa Cove have just addressed the problem head on with their new line of Sea Squirt sea wear.
The cool thing is each of the themed vests—shark, dolphin, Killa [sic] whale, clown fish—are modular apparel whose flotation devices are detachable thanks to Velcro. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the fins, they’re a carrying aid so the ‘rents can pluck their kid out of the water real easy if the situation calls for it. Each Sea Squirt vest costs around $70 with another $60 thrown in for the flotation padding.
Here’s a little extra from the product page:
A great learn-to-swim aid, warmth layer and dress-up toy all in one. Durable neoprene inside and out. Nice and comfy against the skin. With three flotation panels that remove for adjustable buoyancy to match your little fish’s swimming level. This makes learning to swim more fun — because kids think they’re playing, not practicing.
(For advanced swimmers, remove all panels to make a favorite toy for beach or bathtub.) Flexible fin lies flat against back for comfortable sitting in chairs and on boats. Heavy duty plastic zipper. Patent and patent pending.
